Main Goal
Limagrain Europe is strengthening its teams!
Within our global structure Limagrain Field Seeds Research, we are looking for our future Breeder Conversion (M/F) to join our teams! Your main mission will be to manage our Maize inbred line conversion platform for the main Native Traits (NT) of interest.
This position is to be filled as soon as possible at our Research Center in Chappes (near Clermont-Ferrand, France)!
Job description
The position requires a strong collaboration with Peruvian conversion team, Maize breeding teams, Maize Breeding support team as well as other Maize conversion managers, genotyping and biostatistics platform.
• Define the NT platform: perimeter and operating rules (service, catalog)
• Define the NT conversion strategy and conversion schemes.
• Manage the worldwide research requests.
• Apply the conversion for NT conversion, specially for new validated genes.
• Draw the annual conversion plan with the attached budget (including allocation to different requesters)
• Coordinate and follow the operations from the first stages to the final validation of converted lines, including molecular data analysis.
• Conversion breeder: select the candidates on genotyping base and /or phenotyping base during visit of Nurseries or trials fields. Decide the validation of the converted form.
• Ensures that all the conversion program is in PLOTS (tomorrow BOS)
• Ensures a good information flow between conversion and other teams.
• Ensures good reporting on operation.
• Train and manage technically the team in charge of conversion in Peru.
• Have an upstream review on tools and method and propose new services adapted to maize research team.

Profile
You have a Master's degree in Vegetal Breeding Science or Agronomy, and at least 3 years' previous successful experience in Conversion Breeding.
Rigorous and organized, you know how to anticipate and make decisions in order to meet expectations. Your relational and interpersonal skills are recognized, enabling you to lead cross-functional teams, influence and convince.
Given the international working environment, you are fluent in both written and spoken professional English. As the position involves a great deal of interaction with teams in Peru, you will also be able to understand and express yourself in operational Spanish.
