Function
RESEARCH & INNOVATION - INNOVATION
Main Goal
Within the Gene Discovery team of our Trait & Technologies research organization, which supports all our research activities worldwide, we are looking for a scientist who will use molecular modeling tools to predict and characterize protein structures and protein-protein interactions in order to suggest ways of improving the agronomic properties of our target species, such as corn and wheat. This position will require very strong interaction with different scientific teams within Groupe Limagrain
Job description
The advent of deep learning-based methods is bringing new potential to structural biology studies.
The dominant activity of the position is to generate
i) protein modeling and structural annotation (I-TASSER, TrRosetta, AlphaFold, ...),
ii) protein model comparison (RUPEE, TM-align, ...),
iii) prediction of heterodimeric protein complexes (AlphaFold-Multimer, ...),
and iv) characterization of the interfaces of these complexes (Charmm, QtPISA, ...).
You will contribute your expertise in structural biology to various projects aimed at identifying new alleles to improve agronomic traits through genome-editing approaches. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team supported by a bioinformatics team.
You will make proposals that can be implemented in plants by teams dedicated to these approaches.
Profile
With a PhD or equivalent in structural biology, you are proficient in the computer and statistical tools associated with this field. You are able to study the three-dimensional structure of macromolecules, study and model their molecular dynamics and characterize their physical interactions.
