RESEARCH & INNOVATION - TRAIT & SCIENCE SUPPORT
Main Goal
We are currently seeking a highly motivated and talented Bioinformatician to join our expanding Bioinformatics team within our Applied Genomics platform, in our Research Center in Chappes, near Clermont-Ferrand, France.
The successful candidate will play a crucial role in developing bioinformatics pipelines to support our bio analysts in the areas of comparative genomics, pangenomics, and transcriptomics.
Job description
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain efficient bioinformatics pipelines for the analysis of large-scale genomic and transcriptomic data.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including bio analysts, geneticists, and other bioinformaticians to design and implement innovative solutions for data analysis and interpretation.
- Stay up to date with the latest developments in bioinformatics, genomics, and computational biology, and integrate new tools and techniques into existing pipelines.
- Assist with troubleshooting and optimization of pipelines and provide technical support to end-users.
Profile
Requirements:
- Master's degree (BAC+5) or higher in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or a related field.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in the analysis of genomic and transcriptomic data.
- Proficient in programming languages such as Python, R, or Perl, and experience -with Unix/Linux environments.
- Familiarity with bioinformatics tools and resources, including sequence alignment, variant calling, and gene annotation.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, in English and French.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Experience with creation of tools for the Galaxy platform for bioinformatics analysis.
- Experience or training in plant biology
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and high-performance computing environments.
