Within the global research organization of the Field Seeds Division, in a new Trait and Technologies organization, with our expanding utilization of sequencing technologies we are opening a position for a senior bioinformatician to join the Bioinformatics team within the Applied Genomics platform.
The Applied Genomics platform provides solutions and tools to organize, structure and leverage genomic data to support breeding applications and gene cloning efforts. These activities are critical for the trait discovery pipeline and downstream, for gene editing activities as well as for the efficiency of our breeding efforts. We are now searching for a new member of the team who will provide bioinformatics expertise to our custom research project portfolio.
You will act as an internal expert in bioinformatics applied to identification of candidate genes of interests combining efficiently genetic and genomic tools and resources.
You will bring forward solutions and innovations to strengthen the efficiency of our trait-based breeding approach.
You will lead the survey of new bioinformatic tools and concepts that could improve our precision and efficiency
You will bring expertise on the treatment of omics data beyond the data generation step.
You will be part of the research community and contribute to the scientific emulation within Limagrain and especially within Limagrain Field Seeds Research.
The position reports to the Bioinformatics Team Leader within our Chappes research center which centralizes different scientific skills and breeding teams.
You have a PhD in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology or related subject.
You have a strong demonstrated knowledge in bioinformatics applied to trait discovery.
You have already managed research projects from conception to conclusion including organization and planification of the operations, analysis and interpretation of results.
You have a strong proficiency in programming in Python, Perl or a similar data analysis-oriented language. Experience with GIT and NextFlow would be a plus.
You have strong experience in comparative genomics. Experience in creation of co-expression networks would be advantageous
You have a team-working spirit and possess excellent communication and inter-personal skills both verbal and written.
You master English both oral and written. French speaking would be a plus.
This position is to be filled as soon as possible on a permanent basis at our Research Center in Chappes, 20 km from Clermont-Ferrand (Auvergne, France).
