Main Goal

Limagrain Field Seeds Research is looking for its future Oilseed Rape (OSR) Program Manager to strengthen its research teams. You will join its organization to develop, direct, implement and control the short-, mid- and long-term research breeding strategy and activities for the Western European OSR program.

This permanent position is located in the station of Verneuil-l'Étang, near Marne-la-Vallée and Paris, in France.

Job description

THE MISSION:


► As Oilseed Rape (OSR) Program Manager you will develop, direct, implement and control the short-, mid- and long-term research breeding strategy and activities for the Western European OSR program. You are aiming at delivering new varieties in line with business expectations. As part of the European OSR Research team, you are leading and monitoring transversal activities as well.

► You will define, in close consultation with the OSR Research head and the business, the short-, medium- and long-term objectives of the breeding program under your responsibility and the target portfolio with development and marketing teams.

► You will develop the breeding strategy and germplasm structuration required to sustain the leadership of Limagrain in this key segment of our OSR portfolio. 

► You will represent Limagrain and play a significant role with internal and external partners to engage, review and recommend topics of scientific interest to Limagrain.

► As a manager, you will lead a team of breeders and technicians located in Verneuil station and collaborate with your pears to ensure smooth coordination in allocation of resources, use of buildings and equipment.

► You will also be responsible to prepare and follow budgets and investments for the OSR breeding program in France.

Profile

YOUR PROFILE:

 

■ You like to work outdoors, in the heart of nature and fields?
■ You like to move around to be as close as possible to your crops?
■ You have a sense of effort and a commitment for getting the job done?
■ You are a qualified professional (Ph.D/M.sc. from Agricultural Sciences) with 5+ years of experience in Plant Breeding, Quantitative Genetics, Agronomy and/or Seed Industry Acumen?

■ A thorough knowledge of breeding theory & concept, data analysis & molecular technologies.
■ Minimum 5 or more years of experience in line & hybrid development work
■ Eagerness to lead and drive changes and adopt new technologies and breeding schemes.
■ Willing to work in agriculture and breeding, as well as field work.
■ Ability to use software for data analyses, management, presentation, and reporting.
■ Good ability to leadership, management, communication, and teamwork.
■ Good language skill in French and English (oral and written).
